The Difference between "Luminous Dial" and "Continuously Lighted Dial" Luminous -
Dials and or hands and markers are coated with a material
that glows in the dark. Usually the luminous material is
applied to the numbers and the hands and glows
nicely in the dark for several hours. Eventually the luminous
effect wears down until recharged by light in the room or by
sunlight.
Continuously Lighted -
Dials that are lighted or illuminated are lighted by an
electric light bulb. The light can be behind the dial or at
the side to give a nice "Lighted Dial" effect all night long.
Some have to be plugged into AC and some have battery powered lights
that go all night long.
